Ruby Jewel is seeking a supply chain professional looking for an exciting opportunity to grow within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business.  The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator has the responsibility for ensuring that we have the materials required to meet our growing demand AND that they arrive in the hands of our loyal fans near and far.  The Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator will also spearhead efforts to maintain the integrity of the company’s inventory system and increase the robustness of Ruby Jewel’s Supply Chain Program. This role reports to the Operations Manager.

Role Priorities:

  • Develop and implement mid-to-long term supply chain business strategies in support of business growth and optimizing cost structure and inventory.
  • Ensure the needs of all grocery, wholesale and scoop shop accounts are met with professionalism and excellent customer service.
  • Work to ensure the accuracy of the company’s MRP program and implement best practices to ensure functionality.

 Performance Requirements:

  • Communicate with suppliers and carriers as required to ensure orders and deliveries are placed, confirmed and delivered on schedule.
  • Work with vendors and distributors to ensure that contracts are in place and pricing is current and maintaining pricing agreement documentation.
  • Preparation of all shipping documents including, but not limited to, labels, packing lists, commercials invoices and all necessary customs paperwork.
  • Resolve any issues with the delivery of customer orders.
  • Coordination of the delivery of shipments based on the needs and requests of respective departments and individuals.
  • Communicate all delivery delays and exceptions to necessary teams.
  • Participate on the company’s food safety team and maintain all relevant food safety and supplier approval documentation.
  • Proactively works to identify improvement opportunities and effectively apply any changes to logistics and purchasing processes to achieve optimum operational performance.
  • Forecast ingredients and raw material inputs vs. sales goals and scheduled production and ensure availability for the production department.
  • Works closely with Accounting and the CFO to support RJ’s performance objectives.
  • Manages 3rd party logistics and warehousing relationships to ensure effective and safe handling of Ruby Jewel products.
  • Provides analytical support for Supply Chain optimization projects, new business opportunities and proposals

 Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in perishable consumer foods.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain or related field.
  • Ability to take initiative, quick learner and show a positive attitude on a daily basis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop working relationships.
  • Team player and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to cope well with the demands of a rapidly growing company.
  • Overall systems savvy and intermediate skills in Excel.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and accommodate schedule changes as necessary.
